Cracking down on S.E. drug houses

Police and people who live in the city’s southeast are taking steps to crack down on illegal activities in their neighbourhoods.

Last week, three drug houses were shut down and five people were charged with several offences.

Searches of the homes turned up everything from cocaine and marijuana, to prescription drugs and illegal weapons.

Acting Staff Sargeant Mark Hatchette tells 660News, shutting down these drug hang-outs can help eliminate dens of criminality and social disorder, to help communities become safer.

Police are still searching for a man wanted on more than 60 charges.
