Woman found dead following S.E. house fire

A woman has been found dead after a fire broke out at her home in the southeast community of Dover.

One of the home-owners called the fire department at around 7:00 pm Wednesday evening, after arriving home to find smoke filling the house.

The resident told crews there was another person still inside, and once firefighters quickly discovered a woman unconscious in an upper bedroom.

But, Adam Loria with Calgary EMS tells 660News, they’re not sure whether she died before or after the fire broke out. He says there’s a possibility she may have died of natural causes.

Fire crews say the flames were already out once they arrived on scene.

Police have been called in to investigate.

No word yet on what caused the blaze.
