Twelve-year-old returns to Calgary

A Calgary boy is home after spending two years in the American foster care system.

He came home Friday, which is two weeks earlier than expected.

Lisa Kirkman says she is thrilled to be reunited with her 12-year-old son Noah.

She says his grandmother travelled to Oregon to meet him and travel back home with him.

Noah was seized in 2008 during a summer spent visiting his stepfather, who wasn’t considered a legal guardian.

He had been stopped several times by police for riding without a helmet and playing in areas he shouldn’t have been.

Officials grew concerned when they discovered the boy had social services files in Canada.
