River warnings ignored

Calgarians did not heed weekend warnings from the fire department to avoid the Bow and Elbow rivers.

Fire officials say hundreds of rafters took to both waterways Sunday to enjoy one of the first nice days in quite some time.

Battalion Chief Ernie Molineaux tells 660News they were on the water, but didn’t have to respond to any serious incidents.

While the rivers aren’t flooding, they are running high and fast right now with murky water and lots of debris.
