Summer school a win-win

Nearly 4,000 students are still hitting the books at summer school.

That’s up 14 per cent from last year.

System principal John Fischer tells the Calgary Sun these classes allow students to focus, because there are fewer distractions.

Nearly 200 teachers staff the four locations and are working on top of their annual contracts, which expire in June.

Fischer adds this is good news for teachers looking for extra work, especially with the CBE announcing job cuts earlier this year.
