Man rescued from collapsed trench

A construction worker was taken to hospital Wednesday afternoon after a trench collapsed at a site in Panorama Hills.

The man was partially buried, but EMS report he was conscious, breathing and even chatting with paramedics on site.

Emergency crews pulled the man in his late 30’s out of the trench around 3:45 p.m. He is listed in stable condition, and paramedics say he was only sent to hospital as a precaution.   

Occupational Health and Safety have been called in to investigate.
