Traffic delays expected on Bow

A lane shift on downtown’s westside has the potential to back up traffic leaving the downtown area along 11th Avenue, through Sunalta, onto westbound Bow Trail.
It is the next phase of the west L-R-T project.
The exit ramp from 10th Avenue to access Bow Trail westbound is being converted into a long single file merge lane onto Bow.
Christian Cormier of the WEST L-R-T office says it’s expected to cause a daily snarl.
The shift is to make way for L-R-T alignment and to construct new westbound lanes on Bow Trail’s north side. Cormier says the new setup and the resulting delays will be in effect for the next year and a half.
