As many as 350,000 people are expected to pack the core Friday morning to watch the annual Calgary Stampede parade.
The parade starts just before 9:00 a.m. at 3rd street and 6th avenue SE.
The two-hour spectacle, which includes some 250 entries, will travel west to 10th street SW, then head south to 9th avenue, and east back toward city hall.
Stampede Parade Chairman David Swanson tells 660News while some people will be camping out to make sure they get their viewing spot, people who show up a little later should have no problem finding a seat.
Roads in the core will be closed to traffic starting at 7:00 a.m.
This year’s parade marshals are Cord and Jet McCoy, the runners up on TV’s last Amazing Race.
The Oklahoma Cowboys say they are honoured to be included in the biggest western party on the planet.
EMS is urging parade goers to wear a hat, slap on the sunscreen and bring along plenty of water, because the weather is expected to be sunny and hot.
