Recent surveys have found Banff lacks a certain amount of authenticity as a Rocky Mountain resort town.
Apparently, the Banff experience does not live up to expectations with what is offered in the way of food and shopping.
People complain that what is available is no different than what they can find elsewhere.
Town Councillor Karen Sorensen says the land-use bylaw is being reviewed and that could lead to a cap on the number of fast food outlets and souvenir shops.
Sorensen tells the Herald visitors want to buy and eat things that are unique to
Banff and area.
Public input is being sought, and changes could be put in effect as early as this fall.
