Relief cheques on the way for flood victims

The cheques are going out Tuesday to Medicine Hat flood victims.

Premier Ed Stelmach says the offices set up to deal with the disaster are making their way through over 150 applications and they’re working to get relief money out as fast as they can.

But Stelmach says some of the damage to public infrastructure could take two or three years to fix.

Stelmach says the total tab could hit over half a billion dollars after as much as 150 millimetres of rain devastated southern Alberta back in June.
