Stampede a hotbed for STIs

The Stampede is the biggest party of the year in Calgary.
Drinking is just part of what makes the “Greatest Outdoor Show on Earth” fun, but over consumption can lead to making poor decisions when it comes to sex.
Dr. Trina Reed says it’s almost like people have an unspoken expectation to hook up with somebody during the Stampede.
Reed says that mindset, when mixed with alcohol can lead to mistakes like hooking up with a co-worker, or worse.
Sexually transmitted diseases and infections become even more of a concern when people are drunk.
Reed says the best way to avoid an STD or an STI is to choose a designated friend to watch over you, just in case or use common sense and wear a condom.
