Stampede Talent Search chooses winner

Young Calgary jazz singer Meg Contini has won this year’s Stampede Talent Search.

After finishing as the first runner-up last year, she captured this year’s grand prize of $4,000, the President’s Trophy and a silver belt buckle.

It’s the 30th year for the Stampede Talent Search contest and Stampede organizers say the talent just keeps getting better.

The first runner-up this year is Michael Witteman who wowed the crowd with yo-yo tricks.
