Child injured in day home dies

The 18-month-old girl injured in a Medicine Hat day home on Monday has died in the Children’s hospital.  

A 23-year-old female worker at the day home where the toddler was being cared for, was charged with one count of aggravated assault and one count of failing to provide the necessities of life Tuesday. It’s expected the charges will be upgraded, once the results of the autopsy are known.

The day home’s operations have been suspended.
