Fire crews are at the Museum of the Highwood in High River, where they’ve been fighting a fire since about 4 a.m. Wednesday.
Mayor Les Rempel tells 660News it looks like the fire started on the outside of the building, but spread into the attic.
He says even if the building can be saved, artifacts inside will likely have smoke damage.
The museum contains about eight thousand objects outlining High River’s history.
