High River Museum Fire

The Glenbow Museum in Calgary will send a team of 10 staff members to High River Thursday to help assess the damage to artifacts after a fire at the town’s museum.

The blaze broke out early Wednesday morning, causing smoke and water damage to some of the 8,000 historical pieces.

The hope is a lot of those artifacts were protected because they were being prepped for shipping to a different location.

Residents have been volunteering their time helping curators carefully remove things.

The historical building itself is badly damaged.

Investigators are still trying to figure out a cause.
