Weather texts available for festival goers

A text message warning system has been set up for people attending this weekend’s Big Valley Jamboree in Camrose.

People who register will get a text if severe weather blows in during the music festival south of Edmonton.

The warning system was set up because last year a woman was killed and 75-people were hurt when a vicious storm caused part of the stage to collapse.

This year’s big valley jamboree starts Thursday night and runs through Monday.

Keith Urban and Martina McBride are headlining the 4-day event.
