A young Airdrie girl is lucky to be alive after falling from a second storey window Friday.
Police and EMS responded to a call just after 5 p.m. in Stonegate that a 4-year-old girl had fallen while talking to other children through a window.
Constable Robert Frizzell tells 660News Airdrie EMS found the child unconscious, but breathing.
He says she narrowly missed a concrete pad and landed on a foam play mat which helped cushion the fall.
She was transported to a Calgary hospital and has since been released.
The young girl suffered injuries to her leg and will require a cast.
RCMP will not be pressing charges.
