This time of the year, the sky is perfect for checking out different planets from afar, and that’s just what the Rothney Astrophysical Observatory is hoping you’ll do.
The observatory is putting on it’s Milky Way Nights, beginning Friday, with visitors able to stare through different telescopes and check out planets including Venus, Mars and Saturn.
Telescopes that will be used include the 1.8 metre arct, one of the largest telescopes in Canada.
Education specialist at the observatory, Jennifer Howse, tells 660News the view is breathtaking.
The nights run from 10 p.m. until 2 a.m. up until August 11th and a $20.00 donation is suggested, per vehicle.
