Summer Not Hot!

More proof the summer of 2010 has been anything but hot.

Calgary EMS says dehydration and heat exhaustion calls are down this year compared to last.

The Calgary Sun reports, so far this summer, paramedics have only had to treat fourteen people for heat-related issues.

That’s about half the number of calls that normally come in during June and July.

An EMS spokesperson says he would like to think greater awareness about the dangers of the sun is why call volume is down, but it admits it’s likely a result of the below normal temperatures.
