One of the Calgary’s more popular festivals is planned from 10:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. Sunday.
It’s anticipated about 35,000 people will flood the southwest community to celebrate the New Orleans-themed, family-friendly festival.
There will be jazz, rhythm & blues, street and cultural performers, entertainment stages and about 150 street vendors.
There’s also a kids’ quarter for the 26th annual event. The children’s theme continues with fundraising efforts for the Children’s Wish Foundation, which grants the wishes of children facing life-threatening illnesses.
The day-long event will block off 33rd and 34th Avenues east of Crowchild Trail, between 19th and 21st Streets in the southwest.
