The wild weather this summer has kept a group of Alberta weather watchers waging war against hail.
A team of meteorologists, pilots and other experts are battling against severe storms by seeding the clouds with silver iodide hoping to reduce the size of hailstones.
Field manager, Tom Walton with Weather Modification Inc. tells 660News the team has been incredibly busy this year.
Walton says this season has seen pilots logging more than double last year’s numbers.
Pilots have flown the third most flight hours this season in the history of the 15-year-old program and they still have just over month left to go.
