A worker who tossed around a metal clamp at a 27-storey high downtown construction site is out of a job.
Skyway Canada, the company the worker was employed with, tells the Calgary Sun they made the firing after an investigation into a YouTube video of the stunt.
The video shows the worker tossing the tool to another person high above the ground.
The cameraman has already quit the company and the man who caught the clamp was suspended.
The city says they’re looking at stronger fines for mishandled construction materials in the wake of similar incidents, including one where a three-year-old girl was killed by a piece of flying debris last year. The current maximum is $15,000.
