Keep It Locked

Keep it locked Calgary!  That message from our police service and the AMA.

This past spring, the campaign was unveiled in District 8 with the simple message: “keep you property locked to avoid becoming a break and enter victim.”

Insp. Blair White says now officers will be patrolling all neighbourhoods in Calgary and if they notice an unlocked home, they will try to notify the home owner.  If they can not, they will leave a door hanger inside to remind the owner of the importance of locking up.

He says the program is working.  Since May, break and enters into unlocked properties have dropped by 40 percent in District 8, compared to a five percent jump in the rest of the city.
