A man with a handgun has surrendered to police after a more than six-hour standoff at the CBC building near the city’s downtown overnight Sunday.
Police say the man was distraught but there was no danger to anyone else in the area during the incident.
Just to be sure, Duty Inspector Chris Butler says they blocked off the entire area, including shutting down Memorial Drive in both directions between 14th Street and 19th Street, until the incident was resolved around 7 a.m. Sunday.
