Fire in Abbeydale

It was a close call for a family of nine after a house fire in the city’s northeast late Monday afternoon.
The fire began around 5:30 p.m. at a home in the Abbeydale area. When fire crews arrived they found smoke pouring from the home.
Firefighters were able to get into the house to put the blaze out, but not without extensive smoke and fire damage to the home.
Two adults and seven children live in the home, but everyone is said to be fine.
