Two Alberta foreign worker programs cut

Alberta is stopping two programs that recruit foreign workers.

Family members of Alberta residents can currently apply to come here using the Family Stream program.

They will no longer be able to do so.

Programs letting some people who hold visas in the U.S. heading north for work have also been cut.

The Calgary Herald reports 1,400 of the roughly 4,200 permanent residents accepted in our province last year were taken in using one of the two axed programs.
