A 33-year-old woman is facing murder charges in the 2004 death of her infant son.
The 10-month-old was found in his crib, not breathing, and declared dead at hospital.
At the time, the death was said to be from natural causes.
Then in May of this year, police were called to the Alberta Children’s Hospital after reports of a five-year-old suffering traumatic injuries.
The boy’s mother was charged with attempted murder, choking, and failing to provide the necessities of life.
That made police re-open the investigation into the death of her other son six years ago.
Stacey Joy Bourdeaux is charged with one count of second-degree murder.
Police say Bourdeaux co-operated with their investigation and is in custody.
