The victim at the centre of a bizarre torture and mutilation case is optimistic about his recovery.
Dustin LaFortune tells CTV, he’s slowly getting better, gaining more independence, including the ability to dress himself.
The 26-year-old continues to recover after being dumped outside a Regina hospital in April.
He was beaten, emaciated and burned, barely recognizable and weighing just 87 pounds.
LaFortune commented on the man who’s accused of assaulting and forcibly confining him and says he sat up all night waiting for confirmation that Dustin Paxton had been captured.
LaFortune will be leaving hospital in Regina on Monday and will live with his mother in Victoria.
