The provincial Tories are trying to shore up oilsands support in in other parts of Canada.

Premier Ed Stelmach is sending three of his senior ministers to southern Ontario to talk to leaders in that province’s manufacturing sector about how important Alberta oil is to their economy.

The Calgary Herald reports Alberta’s Energy, Environment and Intergovernmental Relations Ministers will all be going, along with senior oil and gas officials.

They’ll also be making special efforts to highlight Alberta’s effort to improve the environmental impact of oilsands development.

The trip is set for later this month.
