Bayview mail to resume Tuesday

Canada Post is heading back to Bayview Tuesday to try and resume mail delivery.

It temporarily suspended delivery August 26th in the southwest neighbourhood after an aggressive hawk started divebombing the female letter carrier.

At one point, the bird broke the bicycle helmet she was wearing to protect herself.

Theresa Williams, a Canada Post spokeswoman tells 660News, the plan is to resume delivery with a temporary worker. She says if they have no issues on Tuesday, they’ll continue the following day.

Wildlife officials expect the family of hawks will be flying south for the winter very soon.
