It seems about as many Canadians feel they’re being fairly compensated at work, as those who feel they should be paid more.
That’s according to a new poll conducted by the Association for Canadian Studies in Montreal, along with Carleton University.
Spokesperson for the two groups, Jeb Jedwab, tells The Calgary Herald the high number of Canadians who feel they are underpaid may be a reflection on corporate culture in recent years.
42% of Canadians in western Canada feel they don’t make as much as they deserve.
Jedwab says Canadians are feeling resentment over the big bucks handed out to executives in recent years. Especially if those executives were working for companies that required Government Bailouts.
According to the poll, about 43% of Canadians feel they are fairly compensated and there are actually 4.5% of us who feel we make more than we deserve.
