Workers in this country are more stressed and feel less appreciated.
A national study from Desjardins Financial Security reports 30 per cent of people asked feel more pressure on the job this year than last year.
What’s pushing us over the edge? 30 per cent said an insufficient salary, 27 per cent said work overload, a lack of recognition came in with 22 per cent and another 22 per cent said a negative work environment was the main complaint.
The Canadian Mental Health Association says if you are having trouble coping at work, you need to talk to your boss about it. Many people are more stressed in September because holidays are over, there are more work deadlines and people with children are trying to get back into the school routine.
A spokesperson with the association says if you are honest with your boss, schedules could be changed, like coming in and leaving 15 minutes later, giving you time to get the kids off to school.
