Still no charges in alleged sexual assault

Police are still waiting to interview the victim in an alleged sexual assault that happened near a school on Monday afternoon.

Charges haven’t been laid in the case of a 16-year-old boy and 12-year-old girl caught in a sexual act near Clarence Sansom Junior High in the Northeast.

Investigators tell The Calgary Herald they want to speak with the victim before they consider any charges.

Meantime, the Calgary Catholic school board is pushing the importance of sex education.

They say teaching kids about healthy relationships and appropriate behaviour starts at home, but educators take it seriously and start early.

A spokesperson tells The Calgary Sun students need guidance to ensure they avoid potentially bad situations as they grow-up.

Kids in the Catholic system are introduced to human sexuality in grade four.

A spokesperson for the public board declined to comment on the topic.
