Australian tourists suing over bear attack

Two Aussie tourists badly mauled by grizzly bears 15 years ago are suing the Canadian government for not giving them enough warning about the beasts.

The two men testified in a Calgary court Monday about the incident in September of 1995, when they woke up to a grizzly tearing apart their tent near Lake Louise.

The tourists say Banff National Park wardens knew about at least one similar incident about two weeks before they were attacked, but didn’t advise the visitors about it.

The Calgary Sun reports the two men are seeking at least $75,000 in damages.
