Missing man’s truck found

The truck belonging to a missing Airdrie man has been found in the mountains.

20 year-old Jordan Darda hasn’t been heard from since the Labour Day long weekend, when he told family he was headed camping in Jasper National Park.

Airdrie RCMP Constable Robert Frizzell tells 660News, the vehicle was found by park wardens in a remote area around Pinto Lake, which is located on the border between Banff and Jasper national parks and is known to have poor radio and cell phone reception.

Frizzell says a search of the truck has found nothing out of the ordinary, and no signs of a struggle.

Search and rescue teams are now moving through the area with a grid search looking for Darda or any sign of him.

They are also asking volunteers to stay away as they only want trained searchers in the area for now.

Police say if an initial search does not locate anything and the area is expanded then they may request civilian volunteers.

Darda’s mother made a tearful plea for his safe return Monday.
