Bear warning not good enough

Signs warning campers about bears in a Lake Louise campground weren’t good enough.

That’s from a bear expert testifying in the case of a pair of Australians, mauled by a grizzly 15 years ago.

The pair is suing the Canadian government, saying they weren’t adequately warned about bears in the area.

Banff National Park officials say there was a sign posted that read “Caution, bear in area, travel with caution.”

However, the expert says that’s more of a trail sign, and not one suitable for a campground.
