Low and moderate income seniors in Calgary have another option for housing after the official opening of the Willow Park on the Bow project.
Patrick Keogh with the Canada Mortgage Housing Corporation tells 660News, the project was a joint-effort between several community businesses and organizations and is a big plus for the city.
The project is overseen by MCF’s Housing for Seniors, whose website says seniors interested in applying must make less than $37,500 per year for a one-bedroom unit and $45,500 per year, for a two-bedroom unit.
The 150 units, located in Bridgeland near downtown offer an “independant living environment along with support services, a first in Calgary for low and moderate income seniors.”
The project received $7.5-million in funding through the Canada-Alberta affordable housing program.
