Canada could face serious obstacles at the upcoming Commonwealth Games.
Reports have circulated about poor conditions, including shoddy construction at the athlete’s village as well as health concerns and security threats.
The Canadian team at the games is made up of 400 athletes, coaches and support staff.
Spokesman for Canada’s team, Derek Johnston, tells 660News there’s not much time before the games begin to fix the residences and they are trying to put pressure on organizers to step up and ensure everything is ready when the games begin on October 3rd.
N-D-P leader Jack Layton says Ottawa needs to do what it can to help officials get things ready in time for the games.
