The continual rain and humidity this summer has wreaked havoc on some city homes. The extreme moisture has created a big problem with mould.
When flooding or a moisture leak occurs and you can’t get the materials to dry quick enough, the mould will grow and spread.
Owner of Alberta Safety Environmental Services John MacDonald tells 660News, this can create serious health issues.
MacDonald also says structural damage can happen. He has seen homes where you can practically poke a hole through the drywall and almost pull out the studs that have become so wet and damaged.
MacDonald adds his company has seen a 50 per cent increase in calls this year, over previous ones.
