Hit and run in SE Calgary involves tractor trailer

Residents in the city’s southeast were startled by a truck that slammed into several vehicles Saturday afternoon.

Just after 3:00 p.m., a semi-tractor trailer severely damaged parked vehicles and numerous trees in the Cranston area.

Luckily, no one was hurt in the incident.

Acting Inspector Keith Cain tells 660News, the driver eventually stopped and was  apprehended by an off-duty police officer.

The driver was taken to a hospital for abnormally low blood sugar levels.

Investigators charged him under the traffic safety act, because criminal charges were not warranted.
