Commuting between Airdrie and Calgary just got a little bit easier.
Starting Monday, three buses are operating between the two cities, and for the next five days its free.
The buses will follow two routes. Route 901 east has limited stops through the Centre Street corridor. Meantime, Route 902 west will travel along the Queen Elizabeth Highway and Deerfoot Trail to the downtown core.
“The launch of the ICE service on October 4th marks a historic milestone for both the City of Airdrie and the Calgary Region,” said Airdrie Mayor Linda Bruce, who is also Chair of the Calgary Regional Partnership.
“City Council has been committed to developing a regional transit system to and from Calgary that is accessible, affordable and convenient for the people of Airdrie,” she added. “ICE is an investment in the region that will create jobs, boost the regional economy and improve the environment, helping Council build a sustainable community.”
