Premier Ed Stelmach is claiming a small victory over a new U.S. bill promoting oilsands production.

It was introduced by the two senators who toured the oilsands last month.

Republicans Lindsey Graham and Saxby Chambliss want to amend U.S. legislation giving priority to greener forms of energy.

The premier feels it’s a slight victory and just a small part of the big battle over the oilsands.
