The Calgary Public Teachers Association is urging parents to do some homework  before they head to the polls on October 18th.

Jenny Regal, president of the Calgary Public Teachers’ association tells 660News numbers appear to be in line with provincial standards at the elementary level, but some junior and senior high classes have as many as 40 students in them.

Regal says parents owe it to their children to find out as much as possible about the school trustee candidates in their ward, because those individuals will shape life in the classroom for the next few years.
