Pocklington to be sentenced

The former owner of the Oilers will continue to sit on pins and needles, waiting to be sentenced for perjury.

Peter Pocklington admitted to lying in his bankruptcy case on May 27th in a plea bargain agreement.

The Edmonton Journal reports the judge overseeing the proceedings has a scheduling conflict and will now hand down a sentence in a California court on Thursday.

Pocklington lied on his application for bankruptcy, when he didn’t disclose he had signing authority over two bank accounts and storage lockers near his home in Palm Desert, California.

The US attorney is recommending two years probation and six months of house arrest if Pocklington fully co-operates in his bankruptcy case.
