RCMP want drivers to avoid becoming a statistic on Alberta highways this weekend.

An influx of officers is out cracking down on people who are speeding, driving drunk, not wearing seatbelts and running stop signs.

In addition, officers will also be taking part in more checkstops than usual.

Every year, Alberta drivers are killed or seriously injured during the Thanksgiving long weekend.
