Alberta kids not getting enough exercise: report

A huge chunk of Alberta teens are getting no exercise at all.

That has the province working on a new recreation policy.

A new report finds only about 75 per cent of youth between 12 and 19 were even moderately active last year.

That means a quarter of Alberta teens can’t even say that walking is a regular part of their lives.

Parks and Recreation Minister Cindy Ady tells The Calgary Sun she’s very concerned and hopes to have a final draft proposal of the new recreation policy ready by Christmas.
