The RCMP has released driving offence numbers from a busy holiday long weekend.

Police stopped more than 2,200 drivers and handed out more than 1,200 speeding tickets.

Officers also laid over 100 impaired driving charges.

The Mounties say that’s an improvement though, considering that almost 4,000 traffic tickets were handed out over the Labour Day long weekend.
