Province prepares for fall session

Monday marks another day on the political calendar: it’s the start of the Alberta Legislature’s fall session.

Education Minister Dave Hancock was busy Tuesday afternoon, outlining some of the priorities, including 11 bills that are ready to go. That includes the distracted driver’s law.

He adds, The Alberta Health Act will be a high-profile legislation. It will be introduced early in the session, based on the committee for Putting People First, which is set to provide more patient-focused health care.

The government will also change riding boundaries for coming provincial elections.
