Jane Goodall stops in Calgary

World renowned chimpanzee researcher and conservationist Dr. Jane Goodall, briefly touched on the oilsands during a stop in Calgary Thursday.

Goodall says she is concerned about oilsands mining, but also understands there are ways of extracting the oil without totally destroying the native environment.

She says she wonders how, with the explosive development of the human intellect compared to the chimps she studies, we’re destroying our only home, mother earth.

She will be making a presentation called “50 Years of Chimps and Change” at the University of Calgary on Sunday.
