The Calgary Women’s Emergency Shelter has expanded.

Ten more beds have been added to increase capacity to 50 beds.

Executive Director Lisa Falkowsky tells 660News, they’re seeing a lot more women come in with more than just one or two kids.

“We found that we needed to renovate two of our bedrooms to make them accommodate larger families and increase the counselling and support that we provide to larger families.”

Now, she says, the shelter needs ongoing support to pay for the extra ten beds.
